On June 19, 2024, the world's largest academic publishing group, Springer Nature, unveiled and presented its prestigious annual awards at the 2024 Beijing International Book Fair. EdmundLiSheng,executivedirector of theInstitute ofShanghai Cooperation OrganizationStudiesanddistinguishedprofessor at theSchool of Political Science and Public Administrationof Shandong University,won an award for his monograph titled "Greater Eurasia Partnership and Belt and Road Initiative: The Cooperation or Containment of Atlanticism in the International System."Dr.Niels Peter Thomas,global CEO of Springer Nature, presented the medal and certificate tothe awardwinners. Leaders of the National Press and Publication Administrationof China, and over one hundred leading figures in the academic and publishing worlds from both China and abroad, attended the ceremony.

EdmundLiSheng expressed his gratitude to Springer Nature for supporting his eleven monographs over the years. The Greater Eurasia Partnership is an initiative with specific diplomatic considerations, economic development strategies, and geopolitical implications. This partnership encompasses both short-term strategies to counter Western pressure and long-term strategic goals to establish a new international and regional order. The successful advancement of platforms such as the SCO will promote the integration of Russia's initiative with China's Belt and Road Initiative, contributing to the construction of a more equitable and reasonable international order.

The "2024China New Development Awards" presented this time aims to recognize and honor the significant research achievements and contributions of Chinese scholars in the field of sustainable development.
