Lecture Content
Professor Zeng Xianghong believes that President Xi Jinping's global governance initiative responds to the various drawbacks of the existing governance system, breaks through the limitations of Western centrism and hegemonic logic, and promotes the construction of a more just and reasonable global governance system. The global governance initiative is not only a refinement and sublimation of China's long-term practice and experience in global governance, but also echoes the common demands of the Global South for the reform of the global governance system, and is of great significance for solving the global governance deficit. Through China's practical implementation, the demonstration of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the joint participation of the Global South, the global governance initiative will surely move from concept to reality, from region to global, and become an important exploration of a new model of global governance. Edmund Sheng believes that China has always adhered to the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits, and under the framework of the global governance initiative, has strengthened policy communication and cooperation with all parties to build broad consensus.
