Talatbek Masadykov graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. He holds a Doctor of Literature degree from Lomonosov Moscow State University and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is an Honorary Professor at Kyrgyz National University, and a Visiting Professor at the University of Tokyo and Shanghai Institute of Political Science.
As a renowned expert on SCO-related issues, Professor Masadykov has extensive management and leadership experience in the Kyrgyz government and international organizations. His contributions to the trade and investment sector, the diplomatic sector, and the United Nations peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan have been recognized and commended on multiple occasions.
Lecture Content
Professor Talatbek Masadykov holds the view that the 2025 SCO Tianjin Summit has ushered in a new phase of security cooperation among SCO member states. He will focus on the deepened cooperation in key areas such as counter-terrorism collaboration, cybersecurity, and border governance, explore the new challenges in mechanism optimization and operational coordination following the organization's expansion, and analyze the SCO's strategic transformation in responding to emerging threats like the militarization of artificial intelligence and the evolving security situation in Central Asia.
By conducting an in-depth analysis of the paths for resource integration among member states, Professor Masadykov will elaborate on the upgraded role of the SCO in the multilateral security governance system, with a particular focus on core concerns including the stability of the Afghan situation and the security of regional energy corridors.
ProfessorEdmund Sheng assesses that under the framework of the "Asian Security Concept", the SCO will balance internal consensus and external pressures through innovative cooperation mechanisms, thereby providing new impetus for regional stability.
