Established in November 2022, the Institute of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Studiesaims to further strengthen talent cultivation and academic research in the field of country and regional studies at Shandong University, build a high-level think tank platform, and better serve national strategic needs as well as Shandong Province's opening-up efforts.

I. Introduction

The team led by ProfessorEdmund Li Sheng,executivedirectorof the Institute ofSCOStudies is currently recruiting 2 full-time postdoctoral researchers with a research focus on International Political Economy.

II. Eligibility Requirements

1. Applicants should be politically reliable, maintain good moral self-cultivation and of both physical and mental health.

2. Applicants should be under the age of 35 and either have obtained a doctoral degree in three years, or will imminently complete a doctoral degree from a high-level university or research institute at home or abroad.

3. Applicants should aspireto pursue a long-term career in scientific research, possess the ability to conduct independent research, and demonstrate innovative consciousness and teamwork spirit.

4. Applicants should hold a background in relevant disciplines such as political science and economics, with research experience in countries along the Belt and Road or in Eurasia.

5. Applicants should have recently published high-quality academic papersand possessexcellent English writing and communication skills or proficiency in Russian.

6. Applicants are expected to devote at least 21 months full-time to their post-doctoral research at Shandong University.

III.Compensation and Benefits

1.Theappointmentis for a term of 2 years, withthe possibility ofrenewal based on work performance.

2. Annual salariesranges from 170,000 to 270,000CNY(before tax), with additional income possible based on specific work performance.

3.Depending onspecificcircumstances,onemay be eligible forQingdao City postdoctoral living allowancesand other benefits.

4.Exceptionallyoutstandingapplicants may be recommended for higher-level universitybenefits.

5. Postdoctoral researchers will have opportunities for collaborative research with renowned scholars in Germany, Russia, Japan, and Australia, as well as short-term academic staysoverseas.

6. Apartments with preferential rents are available for postdoctoral researchers.

7.Children ofpostdoctoral researcherswill be admitted to kindergartens and schools with the same benefits asthe children of universityfacultyand staff.
