On December 25, the 38th session of the "Cooperation and Development" lecture series was held at the Qingdao Campus. Co-hosted by the School of Political Science and Public Administration, SCO Research Institute, Institute of Public Security, and China-SCO Economic and Trade College of Shandong University, this session invited Zheng Shi as the keynote speaker. Professor Zheng is Dean of the China-SCO Economic and Trade College and an expert in multilateral economic and trade cooperation and international talent training. The theme of his lecture was "Sharing Development Opportunities, Pursuing Dreams on the SCO Stage — Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Platforms and Opportunities under the SCO Framework". Edmund Sheng, Distinguished Professor of Shandong University, Taishan Scholar Distinguished Expert, and Executive Dean of the SCO Research Institute, presided over the lecture. Some teachers and students from the School of Political Science and Public Administration and the School of Law attended the academic exchange.
During the keynote speech session, based on the enormous cooperation potential among SCO member states, Zheng Shi systematically elaborated on the prospects of youth innovation and entrepreneurship within the SCO region from both the macro dimension of platform construction and the micro dimension of policy opportunities. He first introduced the mission and vision of the China-SCO Economic and Trade College, emphasizing that the college is committed to "cultivating talents for SCO member states and building platforms for multilateral economic and trade cooperation". Through in-depth cooperation with more than 30 universities and institutions at home and abroad, including Lomonosov Moscow State University and Fudan University, it has built a comprehensive international talent training system. Zheng Shi analyzed the economic and trade potential of the SCO region. He particularly pointed out the current international economic and trade trend of "looking eastward", and combined with specific cases such as Russia's 2025 tax reform, conducted an in-depth analysis of the policy dividends of various countries in supporting cross-border digital trade, providing valuable market forward-looking analysis for young entrepreneurs.
During the interactive Q&A session, teachers and students on site conducted in-depth discussions with Zheng Shi on practical issues such as the implementation difficulties of cross-border e-commerce in SCO member states and the core competitiveness of international interdisciplinary talents. In his summary, Edmund Sheng spoke highly of Zheng Shi's wonderful report, noting that the lecture not only depicted the grand blueprint of SCO economic and trade cooperation, but also provided pragmatic path guidance and platform support for young students to "pursue dreams on the SCO stage".
By linking practical departments with academic resources, this lecture further broadened the international horizon of teachers and students, and injected new vitality into promoting the integration of industry, university and research under the SCO framework.
