On September 26, a delegation led by Zhao Bei, Deputy Director of the Social Hotline News Department of the Omnimedia News Center of Qingdao Media Group, visited the School of Political Science and Public Administration and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Research Institute. Li Haiyan, Secretary of the Party Committee of PSPA, attended the seminar, while Edmund Sheng, Distinguished Professor of Shandong University and Executive Dean of the SCO Research Institute, presided over the meeting.

Li Haiyan stated that in recent years, the School has been committed to further building a comprehensive publicity framework, integrating publicity platforms and resources both inside and outside the university. It has particularly focused on strengthening cooperation with key media outlets to continuously enhance the School’s reputation and influence. A series of the School’s major events and distinctive initiatives have been covered by central-level media. Notably, the SCO National Forum on the Integration of Science, Education and Economy, hosted by the School, was reported by central media such as CCTV Evening News and CCTV China News, attracting widespread social attention. He emphasized that the School expects to leverage cooperation and exchanges with Qingdao Media Group to provide impetus and support for the high-quality development of both PSPA and the SCO Research Institute.
Zhao Bei introduced the basic overview of the Omnimedia News Center of Qingdao Media Group, as well as its experience in providing omnimedia services for a number of universities. She expressed the hope of realizing an innovative "academia-media-practice" three-dimensional linkage model through global converged media projects such as "Meeting of Mountains and Seas". Liu Yawen, Supervisor of the Culture and Education Studio under the Social Hotline News Department of the Omnimedia News Center, shared the Center’s practical cases in publicizing major events, especially its cooperation with universities.
Edmund Sheng presented the basic information and development achievements of the SCO Research Institute, with a focus on its contributions to serving national strategies and promoting international academic exchanges under the framework of the SCO. Shi Ying, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of PSPA, introduced the characteristics and highlights of the School’s publicity work, and expressed expectations for cooperation with Qingdao Media Group in areas such as news publicity coordination and the planning of large-scale converged media activities.
During the meeting, the two parties conducted in-depth exchanges on collaboration in fields including the transformation of think tank achievements, the publicity of academic conferences, and expert interviews.
