On the morning of August 29, the 26th Session of the "Cooperation and Development" Series Lectures, co-hosted by the School of Political Science and Public Administration of Shandong University, the Institute of SCO Studies of Shandong University, the Institute of Public Security of Shandong University, and the China-SCO Institute of Economics and Trade, was held in the South Building of Huagangyuan in Qingdao. The theme of this lecture was "Russia's Domestic and Foreign Situation and the Development Trend of the Eurasian Region", delivered by Li Ziguo, Director of the Institute of Eurasian Studies, China Institute of International Studies, and Secretary-General of the SCO Research Center. The lecture was hosted by Edmund Li Sheng, a specially-appointed professor of the School of Political Science and Public Administration and Executive Dean of the Institute of SCO Studies. Yang Luhui, Director of the Asia-Pacific Research Institute, as well as some teachers and students from the School of Political Science and Public Administration and the Law School, attended the event.

At the beginning of the lecture, Director Li Ziguo pointed out that Russia's domestic and foreign situation and the development trend of the Eurasian region present multi-dimensional and complex characteristics. By analyzing core elements such as political characteristics, economic model, and diplomatic logic, he revealed the basic framework of Russia's current development. In the political field, the establishment of federal districts has been adopted to strengthen central governance, yet challenges such as intergenerational contradictions and the solidification of interest groups need to be addressed. Economically, the military-industrial chain has driven short-term growth, but issues like resource dependence and insufficient innovation remain unresolved. In diplomacy, with the expansion of security boundaries as the core, geopolitical games with the West continue. Against the backdrop of increasing global challenges, Director Li Ziguo provided a systematic perspective for understanding Russia's domestic and foreign dynamics and the development trend of the Eurasian region.

In the interactive communication session, teachers and students had a lively discussion and exchange on issues such as the changes and driving factors of U.S.-Russia relations, the important role of Russia's political stability, and the two-way impact of Sino-Russian cultural differences on exchanges.

This lecture provided a communication platform for the teachers and students present to further comprehensively understand the development process of Russia's domestic and foreign affairs and the development trend of the Eurasian region under the new situation. The School of Political Science and Public Administration of Shandong University is committed to providing teachers and students with high-quality professional disciplinary resources at home and abroad, and hopes that teachers and students of the school will continue to pay attention to the school's information and the "Cooperation and Development" series lectures of the Institute of SCO Studies.
