On the afternoon of June 24, the preparatory meeting for the Forum on Integration of Science, Education and Economic Trade of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Countries was held at the Qingdao Campus. Zheng Shi, Dean of the China-SCO Institute of Trade and Economics, and Xing Zhanjun, Assistant to the President of Shandong University and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Qingdao Campus, attended the meeting.

The meeting briefed the progress of forum preparations, emphasizing that the cooperation potential in the fields of science, education, economy and trade among SCO countries is huge. The forum will effectively promote in-depth exchanges and cooperation among all parties, injecting new vitality into regional development. Dean Zheng Shi paid close attention to the preparatory work and looked forward to strengthening ties with SCO countries to jointly explore new paths for integration. Participants discussed core issues such as agenda setting, theme planning, guest invitation and resource docking, focusing on key areas including education empowering economic and trade cooperation, cultural exchanges deepening economic and trade ties, and data-driven economic and trade cooperation. By building a high-level communication platform, the forum aims to promote ideological exchanges and practical cooperation among SCO countries, and ensure that forum achievements are effectively applied to enterprise training and government decision-making. The meeting clarified the next-step work plan and division of responsibilities. All parties expressed their commitment to full collaboration to ensure the forum’s successful convening before the upcoming SCO Summit in Tianjin this year, so as to promote the in-depth integration and collaborative development of science, education, economy and trade among SCO countries.
