Distinguished Professor at the School of International Relations / Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, Xiamen University; Associate Editor ofSoutheast Asian Affairs Research. He previously served as Professor and Director of the Department of International Strategy at the PLA University of International Relations, Visiting Scholar at the University of New South Wales in Australia, Military Observer of the United Nations Observer Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Military Attaché at the Military Attaché's Office of the Chinese Embassy in Peru. He has been awarded the Second-Class National Teaching Achievement Award, the First-Class Military Teaching Achievement Award, and multiple military and provincial-ministerial level scientific research achievement awards. His main research interests include the intellectual history of international relations, the intellectual history of strategy, the international system, China's peripheral diplomacy, and China-US relations. He has published more than 50 papers in academic journals such asWorld Economics and Politics,The Journal of International Studies, andChinese Journal of European Studies. He is the author ofHegemony and Balance of Power in the European State Systemand other works, and the translator ofThe Cambridge History of American Foreign Relationsand other translations.
