He engages mainly in research on Central Asia, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and terrorism governance. He has published more than 160 academic papers in authoritative journals such asSocial Sciences in ChinaandWorld Economics and Politics, presided over numerous national-level projects, and over 50 research reports have been adopted or commented on by relevant central and local decision-making departments.
