Chair Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), serving as Executive Dean of the School of Public Affairs and dual-appointed professor at the State Key Laboratory of Fire Science. He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and the Excellent Young Scientists Fund, and has been selected for the Ministry of Education's "New Century Excellent Talents" program, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Youth Innovation Promotion Association, and the 2024 State Council Special Allowance recommendation list. His long-standing research focuses on risk and crisis management, and organizational reputation management. He has published over 100 papers in top journals such as Strategic Management Journal and Risk Analysis, with more than 50 SSCI/SCI-indexed papers and over 1,600 total citations. He has authored two monographs, with a case study included in the Ivey Business School case library. His awards include the Ministry of Education Natural Science First Prize and Humanities and Social Sciences Second Prize.
He has presided over more than 10 national-level projects, including major programs and general programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and multiple policy reports have received provincial/ministerial-level endorsements. He serves as Associate Editor of Chinese Management Studies and Council Member of the China Society of Emergency Management, teaching courses such as Enterprise Risk and Crisis Management.
